Being unemployed, you cannot get approved for a loan on your own. And a cosigner can't help you either since you show no proof of income. So you are on the hook for the miles and damage.

Go to 2 local body shops and get estimates. Then add the mileage hit. You'll have a good idea of how much you're responsible for. But keep in mind the lessor will not be using the same body shop so the cost will vary. That's why you need the two estimates, in case their repair charge is much higher. You'll have negotiation leverage with them.

The only way to avoid all this is if you have a family member or friend with very good credit who wants to buy the car from the lessor. But this is not likely. So plan on making arrangements with the lessor to pay your penalties over a period of months.

If you don't get a job soon and make your payments for mileage and damage, they can take legal action against you.

return the vehicle and consider yourself blessed you didn't buy this!

You don't have a job, so buying should not be an option for you.

You will not be able to buy it for less than you can sell it for, to anyone, so you should not be considering trying to buy it.

Did you put a security deposit down when you bought it?
If yes, that amount will go toward the damage and the mileage.

If not, or the security deposit is not enough, they will send you a bill. You will have to figure out some way to pay for it, but should have at least a couple weeks.
